OE 6 crashes in "find message" search mode
For the last two days, whenever I've used the "find message" function in OE 6, as soon as I've entered the info in the field and click "search," the program crashes and I get the dialogue box that states that a problem has been discovered and the program has to close. Occasionally, I also get another box that refers to "DrWatson Postmortem Debugger" has discovered a problem and terminated the application.I upgraded to IE 8 today in the hopes that the change would help, but the problem remains. My Trend Micro virus and malware scans do not indicate that there are any problems. I also delete temporary internet files on a daily basis, so I'm sure that's not the problem. Can you help?

Try compacting your folders in OE. First backup the message store (seewww.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#6) and then go to File | Folder | Compact All and let OE finish. Then close it and reopen it and try the find message. steve "swimmindog" wrote in message news:c4a4af2c-40bf-4742-9d70-90927486b72a...For the last two days, whenever I've used the "find message" function in OE 6, as soon as I've entered the info in the field and click "search," the program crashes and I get the dialogue box that states that a problem has been discovered and the program has to close. Steve,Still no luck. I downloaded OEQB from a link on OEhelp.com/OETpis.aspx@6 into my C drive, ran it, compacted the folders and shut down OE 6. When I reopened the program, the problem was still there. As soon as I clicked on "find now" after entering the search field, the dialogue box came up about the problem as did DrWatson Postmortem Debugger and the program crashed.Obviously, the file is corrupted but is my only option to reinstall? I hope not because I'm afraid I'll lose message files and folders.Thanks.

Go to File | Identities and set up a new Identity. Then set up your accounts and then go to File | Import | Messages and import them from the other Identity. Then try the Find and see if that fixed it. steve "swimmindog" wrote in message news:1abdc558-c5ee-499d-8a8c-567b5e5a6f24...Steve,Still no luck.
